In this blog we will learn steps required for the configuration required to extend the OIM connector to add the support for one more OUD user account attribute: carLicense.
Suppose an organization requires each of his employee to have UK Full Driving License Number details and it stores it. The connector out of the box does not support this but with the help of below steps we can add it to the provisioning process.
a) Create a new Sandbox. Whenever you extend the object definition of an entity, you must perform this type of customization in a sandbox. A sandbox is where you create and manage customizations in Oracle Identity Manager. By using a sandbox, you can isolate and experiment with customizations without affecting the environment of other users.
Give an appropriate name; Save and Close it.
b) Click on Form Designer under Configuration and search for Form.
c) Open the form Click on the Create a Custom Field button and choose TEXT.
d) Enter appropriate values.
e) To add the new attribute to the form, click Regenerate View.
f) Once again Re-generate View and choose the default option :-
g) Publish the active Sandbox and click YES
h) Now lets update Provisioning Lookup
i) Click on Lookup under Configuration and Search for Code field with value as Lookup.LDAP.UM.ProvAttrMap.
j) From the search results select the Lookup.LDAP.UM.ProvAttrMap row. The Edit button now appears.
k) Under Lookup Codes click on the Create icon.
l) Enter as below :-
carLicense is the name of the attribute in OUD (refer above) and Car License Number is the display name (label) of the attribute in OIM form.
m) SAVE and click OK.
n) To TEST it, create a new user and provision it to OUD( Refer my blog here)
o) We can see below that the car license number was successfully provisioned to OUD.
