a) Create a new user in OIM Self Service.
b) Navigate to the Account sub tab and Click on Request Accounts. You shall be redirected to Catalog. As you see the Account portion is empty right now.
c) Catalog will display existing Accounts (Application Instances) you can request. An application instance is a combination of a connector’s IT resource (It is a virtual representation of an external resource. It provides descriptive information about a real-world resource.) and resource object (It is a virtual representation of a resource associated with an OIM user or organization, and it contains everything required to either provision a user to that resource or reconcile a user with it. It is the central record for all entities related to the resource.). When you create an application instance, you extend object definitions of the provisioning entity. OIM uses this entity to provision a resource to a user.
d) Click on Request Account and Click on Add to Cart for the Application Instance Enterprise Directory – OUD
e) Checkout and fill the form.
f) Click on Ready to Submit and Submit afterwards.
g) Once it has successfully completed, Go to User Details Page and click Refresh. You should be able to see that the new Enterprise Directory account is provisioned.
h) You can also verify in OUD by using any LDAP Browser. I am using Apache Studio for the same.
This confirms that direct provisioning for OUD Connector is working fine 🙂
