In this article I will cover:-
a) Installation of latest version of OUD which is 11gR2PS3 (as of June 2015).
b) Installation of Weblogic Server and ADF runtime which is pre-req for configuring ODSM.
c) Configure ODSM to access OUD Directory Server
d) Configure OUD as Directory Server.
e) Connect and Verify OUD Directory Server instance via ODSM.
The installation steps are more or less same as previous version. You can refer here for 11gR2PS2 version.
Here is the main OUD page where all blogs are listed.
Step 1: Download all the software from Edelivery or Oracle Metalink Website.
- Oracle Unified Directory 11g Release 2 (126.96.36.199.0)
- Oracle WebLogic Server 11g Release 1 (10.3.6)
- Oracle Application Development Framework 11g Release 1 (188.8.131.52.0)
All the three components needs to be installed using same user. I am using orafmw for this demo.
Step 3: Install JDK. For this version of OUD, JDK 7 or JRE 7 is required.
Step 4: Before running the installer, set the DISPLAY environment variable on your system. More information can be found here if you face below issue which i faced.
Could not execute auto check for display colors using command /usr/bin/xdpyinfo.
Note: Do not run the Oracle Unified Directory installer as the root user on UNIX and Linux systems.
Step 5: Start the OUD 11g Installation Wizard by running below command and follow the screenshots.
OUD Binaries/Disk1/runInstaller –jreLoc $JAVA_HOME
Once the installation is finished, not the different directories which are created in Middleware Home.
Step 6: Installation of Weblogic Server and ADF runtime. This is pretty standard too. Follow the screenshots.
Note the directories created post weblogic installation.
and now ADF runtime installation. Again just follow the screenshots 🙂
Step 7: Configuration of ODSM.
After we have installed a JDK, WebLogic Server, and Oracle ADF, we are ready toinstall the ODSM. To install ODSM, configure a WebLogic domain by running the Middleware Home/oracle_common/common/bin/config.sh script.
Select the Oracle Directory Services Manager check box. After you select this check box, the configuration wizard automatically selects the Oracle JRF check box.
Step 8: The ODSM application will run on the WebLogic administration server, not on a separate managed server. Start the admin server by executing
Step 9: Verify Weblogic Console and ODSM application which is deployed on Admin Server.
Step 10: If you want to set up OUD as Directory Server, you can refer to my previous post on 11gR2PS2 version. The steps are exactly same. Once you are done, you can connect to OUD server using ODSM.
